ApoCell Gets Private Equity Investment

Houston-based ApoCell, a contract research organization focused on molecular diagnostics, announced today that it has received an investment from Summit Partners. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. According to ApoCell, the new funding will go towards organic growth initiatives and development of the firm's technology platforms. ApoCell was founded in 2004, and came out of research from the The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The firm's services are used to measure biomarkers in blood and tissue specimens, to help diagnostic different diseases.
