Stormpulse Broadens Into Risk Management Software

Austin-based startup Stormpulse, the startup backed by 500 Startups, E-merge, Joshua Baer, Sean Harper, and Zack Linford, said today that it is expanding beyond just weather risk management and into overall risk data software. The company--which is headed by Matt Wensing--said it will offer up Riskpulse, a new risk management platform to help gather risk data and present it to business users. Stormpulse originally focused on catastrophic weather events such as hurricanes. The company said it made the expansion as it realized there are "many other external factors" aside from weather which affects company supply chains and operations. Stormpulse originally was entirely focused on weather tracking mapping and other information for companies. The company raised some funding back in July.
