Idera Buys Kiuwan

Houston-based Idera, which develops database management and other software, has acquired software development products firm Kiuwan. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Idera said that Kiuwan will become part of its Testing Tools Business. Kiuwan's software is used for application security testing, particularly for DevOps. Idera said the acquisition will help it bolster its testing tools business with application security and code testing capabilities. Idera has been very busy with software acquisition in the last year; it acquired another software development tools company, Whole Tomato, in August; it acquired MySQL database tools developer Webyog in April; and it purchased cross platform test automation software company Ranorex last October. Those acquisitions all came after the private equity acquisition of Idera in early 2017 by HGGC, which is now the majority owner of Idera.
