SeqWright Takes On Personal Genomics

Houston-based Seqwright, a provider of contract genomics services, said today that it has entered into the personal genomics market with the addition of a new, personal genotyping service for the public. SeqWright said its new product, GPS: Genomic Profiling Service, will provide genetic data from microarray technology. The firm said it will analyze saliva samples from customers, and provide customers a personal genomic database. The firm will charge $998 to consumers for the service. SeqWright takes on startups such as Google funded 23andMe, deCODEme, and Navigenics in taking gene sequencing to the public.
