NetIQ Takes On BYOD With Mobile Enterprise Access Appliance

Houston-based NetIQ said this morning that it has launched a new, virtual appliance aimed at allowing users with access to business data and services via iOS or Android. NetIQ said its new, NetIQ MobileAccess product lets users securely access corporate resources using their personal, mobile devices. NetIQ said the new product lets users access corporate services and applications on their mobile devices based on their employee identity, and are a replacement for mobile browser-based, Intranet sites. The new product is aimed at the BYOD (bring-your-own-device) trend in corporations, where companies are figuring out how to let employees tap into corporate resources using their personal smartphone, tablets, and other devices rather than issuing employees dedicated hardware.
