Xtera Communications Files For IPO

Allen, Texas-based Xtera Communications, a developer of high bandwidth optical transport products led by Jon R. Hopper, has filed for an IPO. Xtera said it is looking to raised $60M on the NASDAQ Global Market as XCOM. The IPO is being underwritten by Needham & Company, Cowen and Company, and BMO Capital Markets. The company's venture backers include ARCH Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Sevin Rosen Funds, VantagePoint Capital Partners, and The Wellcome Trust.
