Xenex Gets $25M More For Germ Zapping Robots

San Antonio-based Xenex, which develops automated, robotic disinfection technology for hospitals, said today that it has raised $25M more in a funding round. The funding came from Brandon Point Industries Limited, along with Battery Ventures, Targeted Technology Fund II and RK Ventures. Xenex said the new funds go towards product development, international expansion, and to bolster its sales force. Xenex uses an ultraviolet disinfection technology which the company says quickly destroys viruses, bacteria, mold, fungus and bacterial spores in medical facilities. Xenex says its robot can disinfect 30 to 62 hospital rooms per day, using a five minute disinfection cycle. More information »
