Whole Foods Employees Hope For Union After Amazon Acquisition

A group of employees of Austin's Whole Foods are hoping to create a union, hoping to better deal with the takeover of Whole Foods by Amazon. According to a letter circulating among Whole Foods' employees, the group is "concerned about the direction of our company" saying that the past year has included layoffs and the consolidation of store level positions at Whole Foods Market, as a result of the Amazon takeover of the chain. The letter claims that the acquisition deal "came with an agreement to trim hundreds of millions of dollars of labor from our stores." The letter ends "Help us stand up to Amazom, WFM, and John Mackey."
