Whaleshark Media Gets Investment From Google Ventures

Austin-based Whaleshark Media, the online coupon and deals site operator, has scored backing from Google Ventures. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed. WhaleShark operates RetailMeNot.com and many other coupons and deals sites, and has previously scored funding from Austin Ventures. Whaleshark Media also said that Brian Sharples, CEO and co-founder of HomeAway, has joined its board.
