Websense In Acquisition Talks With Raytheon, Says Report

Austin-based Websense, the developer of security software owned by Vista Equity Partners, is in talks to be acquired by defense giant Raytheon, according to a report from Bloomberg. Vista Equity Partners is reportedly looking to sell Websense for more than $1 billion. Vista Equity only just moved Websense to Austin in February of last year, after it paid around $1 billion for Websense, which makes cyber security tools. Websense had moved 470 jobs to the Austin area and was investing $9.935M in its new headquarters, after an effort by the Texas Enterprise Fund to attract the company to Austin.
