Websense Becomes Forcepoint, Plans More Hiring In Austin

Austin-based security software company Websense--fresh off an acquisition by Raytheon in April of last year--has renamed itself Forcepoint, the company unveiled this morning. Raytheon|Websense is unveiling the new name, and a brand new headquarters sign at its building in Austin this morning. The company said that Forcepoint includes the Websense, Raytheon Cyber Products, and Stonesoft businesses, which represent 2,200 employees in 44 offices globally. The newly renamed company is headquartered in Austin, where it has around 400 employees. Forcepoint says it has plans to add at least a hundred more jobs locally in the next 12 to 18 months.
