Wayport Powers Microsoft Zune, McDonalds Service

Microsoft announced an update to its Zune music player today, saying that it will allow wireless stream and download music at 9,800 McDonald's restaurants--which is being powered by a deal with Irving, Texas-based Wayport. Wayport, which maintains and operates wireless and other broadband connectivity at hotels, restaurants, and other public locations, has a deal with McDonald's to provide wireless access in the restaurant's U.S. locations. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. According to Microsoft, the updates will allow Zune users to wirelessly stream and download music from its Zune Marketplace store, get personalized music recommendations, along with other features.
