Wayport Boosted By Starbucks, AT&T Deal

Irving, Texas-based WiFi services firm Wayport has seen a major win in a recently announced deal by Starbucks to use AT&T for its Wi-Fi services. According to Starbucks, it will offer Wi-Fi service in more than 7,000 of its U.S. locations using AT&T's wireless services; the deal replaces an earlier offering from T-Mobile at the coffee chain. Wayport has been the managed services provider for AT&T's WiFi networks since 2003. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The At&T services will be rolled out this spring. Starbucks also said that T-Mobile customers who use Starbucks access points will continue to be able to access Wi-Fi services through an agreement between T-Mobile and AT&T.
