VendorSafe Technologies Acquired By Private Equity Firm

Houston-based VendorSafe, a provider of cloud-based, IT security services, has been acquired by private equity firm Providence Equity Partners. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to the two, Providence Equity Partners has become VendorSafe's majoarity shareholder. As par tof the transaction, VendorSafe has named Kevin Watson as its new CEO. Watson most recently was Chairman and CEO of Verid, also owned by Providence Equity Partners. VendorSafe offers up an IT security service for small and medium sized businesses, to help protect those businesses against cyber threats and help them meet credit card industry regulations.
