uShip Buys UK Firm

Austin-based uShip, which operates an online marketplace for transportation and shipping services, said today that it has acquired UK-based boxby.co.uk. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to the firm, the Boxby helps to match customer deliveries with extra space in transporters' vans in the UK. Boxby was founded by Sandra and Alistair Patterson in 2007, as a offshoot of online Lochryan Furniture Store. As part of the acquisition, uShip said it would add Boxby co-founder Sandra Patterson as a consultant.
