Tyler Technologies Drives Into School Bus Software

Plano-based government software developer Tyler Technologies is expanding into the area of software for school buses, saing today that it has launched a new product called Tyler Drive. The company said its new software and hardware product provides school buses with turn-by-turn directions of school routes; ensures drivers stop at all the stops they are supposed to; manages student ridership and employee timekeeping; and also handles pre- and post-vehicle inspections. Pricing on the new software was not announced. Tyler said the new software is specifically aimed at districts who have issues like driver shortages and compliance reporting. The software runs on a semi-rugged tablet with 4G LTE connectivity.
