Tyler Technologies Acquires Socrata

Plano-based government software developer Tyler Technologies has acquired Socrata, the developer of cloud-based software used for accessing government and public data. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to the companies, Socrata had approximately $25M in revenues for its most recent fiscal year, and employs approximately 150. The Seattle company was venture backed by Frazier Technology Ventures, Morgenthaler Ventures, OpenView Venture Partners and Sapphire Ventures.
