TXU Energy In Google PowerMeter Project

Texas power provider TXU Energy is one of the first electric utilities to tie into Internet giant Google's new Google PowerMeter program, Google disclosed this morning, and will be providing its smart energy customers with access to their power information via Google widgets. Google said that TXU is one of its firm's first Google PowerMeter partners, who will allow consumers to see their personal electricity consumption on the home computer through its Google PowerMeter widgets. Details on when TXU's smart meter customers will have access to Google PowerMeter was not disclosed. Google's software tracks and displays information about power consumption, including graphs and other information, to help consumers better understand their energy usage.
