Travelocity Taps Expedia For Travel Technology

Southlake-based Travelocity and fellow travel website operator Expedia said late last week that the two are in a deal, where Expedia will power the technology platforms behind Travelocity's existing websites. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to the two, Travelocity will switch to focusing on promoting its brand and marketing its travel services and supply, rather than developing the technology to power its websites. Travelocity is wholly owned by Sabre Holdings. The companies said the deal does not cover Travelocity's lastminute.com and Travelocity Partner Network.
