TPG Capital Buys Wave Broadband In $2.365 Billion Deal

Fort Worth-based private equity investor TPG Capital has acquired broadband services provider Wave Broadband, in a deal worth $2.365 billion, the companies said on Monday, in a deal where TPG will combine RCN Telecom Services with Wave. Wave provides high-speed data, video, and voice services to residential and business customers via broadband fiber. Wave was owned by Oak Hill Capital Partners, GI Partners, as well as the company's management. TPG said the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2017.
