Topgolf Acquires Virtual Gaming Software Company World Golf Tour

Dallas-based Topgolf, the operator of a chain of sports-theme entertainment centers, said Wednesday that it has acquired World Golf Tour, a developer of virtual sports gaming software. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Topgolf says that World Golf Tour has more than 14 million players of its web and mobile golf game. The company said the acquisition will help it further engage with its guests through digital content, app enhancements and in-venue experiences.
