TippingPoint Aims New Product At Virtualization Security

Austin-based TippingPoint, the developer of network security products which is now owned by 3Com, said Monday that it has rolled out a new product aimed at virtual environments. The firm said that TippingPoint Virtual Controller adds the firm's security products into virtual environments, adding support for monitoring virtual machine traffic, and integrated management across both physical and virtual environments. The new software woroks with the VMware virtualization software, and is expected to ship in April.
