TI Donates $2.2M To UC Berkeley Electronics Lab

Dallas-based Texas Instruments is hoping a donation of $2.2M to the University of California, Berkeley, will help encourage undergraduates to study electronics, the firm said Thursday. TI said its give, which is aimed at UC Berkeley's traditional introductory Electronic Design Laboratory, will "ignite lifelong ingenuity and passion" around using analog and embedded processors. TI said it will also be donating development kits using its various devices to help with hands on learning experience in the classroom. UC BErkely is renovating its lab space, which is expected to open in Spring of 2013.
