Thriller Publishing Takes On Video Game Market

Thriller Publishing Inc. officially announced its existence Monday, the opening day of the annual Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco. The Texas-based startup said it will develop, market, publish and distribute video games that target the highest-growth segments of the $41 billion industry. Thriller claimed that its first titles will feature military- and espionage-themed storylines written by best-selling authors. Industry veterans J.W. "Bill" Stealey, Fred Schmidt and Jim Bull will lead the Austin, Texas-based company’s senior management team. The trio previously worked together during the 1980s for MicroProse Software, which Stealey founded in 1982 and later published such legendary titles as "Civilization," "Railroad Tycoon" and "Pirates!"
