Three California Tech Companies Target Austin, Look To Hire Hundreds

In a massive surge of interest in tapping Austin for its high tech workforce, three, separate California technology companies said Thursday that they are looking to open up offices in the city and hire workers. Roku, a maker of streaming media players, said Thursday that it is looking to hire 50 to 60 software and hardware engineers in Austin; and Dropbox, the online storage provider, and Websense, a developer of Internet security software, will add a combined 650 jobs in the region, according to the City of Austin's Economic Development department.
