Texas Venture Investments Total $183.7M In Q2

The latest numbers from the MoneyTree Report from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association finds that Texas had $183.7M invested in the state in Q2, a slight rise from dollars invested in Q2 of last year. According to the report, which is based on data from Thomson Reuters, there were thirty one venture capital deals in the quarter. The quarterly totals were less than Q1, when an abnormally large $563.4M was invested in Texas. In terms of the number of deals, there were 31 deals, in line with the 35 deals in Q1, and 38 deals a year ago in Q2 of 2012.

Nationally, venture investors put $6.7 billion into 913 deals in Q2, which was up 12 percent in terms of dollars, and 2 percent in terms of deals versus the $6.0 billion invested in 896 deals a year ago.
