Texas VC Investments Rise: Texas Companies Get $497.5M In Q4

Texas saw a surge in venture capital investments in Q4 of 2014, according to the latest MoneyTree Report issued by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association this morning, based on data from Thomson Reuters. According to the report, Texas had a total of $497.5M in investments during Q4, a significant rise from Q3, when $295.4M was invested in the state in startups. For the year, Texas saw a total of $1.5 billion in venture capital investments. In term number of deals, Q4 saw 57 venture capital deals, up from only 40 the quarter before. The venture activity in Texas reflected the national trend, where venture capital investments were at their highest in over a decade, reaching $14.8 billion into 1,109 deals in Q4. For the year, the nation saw a total of $48.3 billion in 4,356 venture capital investments.
