Texas Awards Xerox $1.1 Billion In Contracts

The state of Texas has awarded an eight year, $848M contract to Xerox, to the firm's Dallas-based consulting arm, which was formerly ACS. According to Xerox, it will help the state modernize and consolidate its data centers. Xerox received the contract after massive issues with Texas and its former relationship with IBM, which had been engaged in 2006 to help consolidate the state's data centers. Xerox said that it has also been separately awarded a six year, $53M contract for printing and mailing services to support a number of state agencies. In announcing the deal, Xerox cited its "deep roots" in Texas and experience helping state agencies. Xerox acquired Dallas-based ACS back in 2009.
