Surgient Now Part of Quest Software

Austin-based Surgient, a developer of software for managing virtual environments, is now officially part of Quest Software, Quest announced Tuesday. Quest had announced its acquisition of Surgient on July 29th. Surgient was backed by Austin Ventures, BlueStream Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Goldman Sachs, MFI Austin, and Sternhill Partners, and raised around $33.0M in capital, and was headed by Tim Lucas. Quest said the acquisition will expand its virtualization management capabilities.
