Study: Texas Dominates In Job Growth

In a new study released recently on the best cities for job growth, Texas completely dominates the rankings. The Best Cities For Jobs 2011 Study--released by the Forbes.com and NewGeography.com--found that Texas cities dominated the top positions for the strongest job growth between January 2010 and January 2011. In the large city category, number one was Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos, number 3 was Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, number 4 was San Antonio-New Braunfels, and number five was Dallas-Plano-Irving. For medium sized cities, Texas again domained, with number one being El Paso, two Corpus Christie, and number four McAllen-Edinburg-Mission. Small cities, as well, were heavily weighted towards Texas, with number one being Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood, three being College Station-Bryan, and number four being Midland. The study found that the Lone Star state "dominated" rankings, with no other region in the country showing similar vibrancy in job growth.
