BrainCheck Raises $8M For Cognitive Assessment Tools

Houston-based BrainCheck, a startup which is developing technology to help assess and treat patients with cognitive impairment and dementia, has raised $8M in its Series A funding round, the company said this week. The funding was co-led by S3 Ventures and Tensility Venture Partners and also icnluded True Wealth Ventures and Nueterra Capital. According to BrainCheck, the funding will go towards helping it to grow its footprint among physician groups, and for expansion into the enterprise healthcare market. The company's technology is used to assess cognitive impairment and help deliver personalized treatment plans from physicians, and replaces what has until recently been a paper-and-pencil effort. BrainCheck's team is split between Houston--where sales and marketing and clinical development is based--and Austin, where its product develompent team is. Dr. Yael Katz is co-founder and CEO of BrainCheck.
