Solugen Picks Up $13.5M For Chemicals Technology

Houston-based Solugen, a startup developing a process to enzymatically manufacture hydrogen peroxide, has raised $13.5M in a Series A funding round, according to the company. The funding came from Fifty Years and Founders Fund, along with Y Combinator. The startup, founded by Gaurab Chakrabarti and Sean Hunt, develops "bioreactors", which uses fermentation of genetically modified yeast cells for chemical production.
