Firefly Aerospace In Deal For Launch Site In Cape Canaveral

Cedar Park, Texas-based Firefly Aerospace, which is developing space launch technology, said this week that it is taking over a launch site at Cape Canaveral, Florida, in a deal with Space Florida. The newly revived Firefly--which went bankrupt in 2016--was acquired in 2017 by Noosphere Venture Partners. Firefly was originally known as Firefly Space Systems, before emerging from bankruptcy. Firefly has yet to fly its rocket, the Firefly Alpha. Firefly says that it plans to invest $52M in its facilities in Florida, and will receive up to $18.9M in funding from Space Florida.
