Match Sues Tinder Co-Founder Over Trade Secrets Theft

Dallas-based Match Group, the parent company of dating- and hookup- app Tinder, has sued Tinder co-founder Sean Rad over trade secrete protection agreements, according to a lawsuit filed by the firm in New York. The lawsuit claims Rad "surreptitiously" copied a vast number of documents and emails belonging to Tinder employees, "in order to advance his personal interests." The lawsuit is seeking $250M from Rad. Match Group has been engaged in a legal battle with a number of Tinder employees since last month. Those employees sued Match over what they said was a deliberate lowering of the valuation of Tinder to deprive them of stock option gains.
