Powering Texas Aims To Promote Renewable Wind Energy In Texas

A new, advocacy group looking to promote the renewable wind energy industry in Teas, Powering Texas, said today that it has launched a new effort to promote "innovative, sustainable electricity generation" throughout Texas, with a focus on wind power. The group, which says it is made up of a coalition of stakeholders in the industry, says it will focus on educating Texans on wind energy in the state. The new group said that in 2017, wind power contributed nearly 15 percent of all electricity in Texas. The organizers of the group include the Rio Grande Valley Partnership, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Pharr Economic Development, Snyder Chamber of Commerce, and many others. Powering Texas said the wind industry has already made an investment of more than $42 billion across the state, and that Texas is the number one wind energy generator in the country.
