Galvanize Raises $32M, Buys Hack Reactor

Galvanize, a company which operates a network of locations teaching software engineering skills--including one in Austin--has raised $32M, and acquired another "coding bootcamp" operator, Hack Reactor. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. The new, $32M funding is a Series C for Galvanize, and was led by Catalyst Investors, and also included New Markets Venture Partners, ABS Capital Partners, University Ventures and the Colorado Impact Fund. Galvanize has locations in Austin, Boulder, Denver, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle. Hack Reactor, which was also active in Austin, will move onto the Galvanize campus in Austin, along with locations in San Francisco and New York.
