RetailMeNot Buys LowestMed, Launches New Service, Rx Saver

Austin-based RetailMeNot announced on Tuesday that it has acquired LowestMed, the operator of a website and mobile app which lets consumers compare prescription prices from nearby pharmacies. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. RetailMeNot said it would use the acquisition to launch a new offering, RetailMeNot Rx Saver, which will allow consumers to compare prices and obtain coupons from nearby pharmacies. LowestMed was founded in 2009, and was founded by CEO Brad Bangerter.
