Houston Company Plans Luxury Space Hotel

A Houston-based startup, Orion Span, said on Thursday that it plans to launch what it calls a "luxury space hotel", which will allow visitors to visit space on a 12-day journey. According to Orion Span, it plans to launch a fully modular, luxury hotel in space--called the Aurora Station, which will host up to six people at a time, including two crew members, for only $9.5 million per person. According to Orion Span, it hopes to launch its orbiting, luxury space hotel in late 2021, with the first guests in 2022. Orion Span said it has begun accepting deposits for future visits to the luxury space hotel today, at $80,000 per person. Orion Span's CEO is Frank Bunger.
