Speedcast Extends Satellite Broadband Deal With Royal Caribbean

Houston-based Speedcast, which provides managed communications and IT support to remote sites, marine, and the oil and gas industry, said today that it has extended a satellite communications deal it has with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Financial details of the deal were not announced. According to Speedcast, it will further increase the bandwidth being delivered across 3 ships for Royal Caribbean. Speedcast said it first installed satellite communications for Royal Caribbean in 2006, using a Ku-band satellite.
