Instacart Workers In Austin Lead Protest Effort

Instacart shoppers and drivers in Austin are in the midst of a "no delivery" stoppage, part of a broader effort among workers for the companies to protest compensation from the "on demand" delivery service. According to reports, it only expected "a handful" of workers, in Austin and St. Louis only, to participate in the stoppage. The Instacart shoppers and drivers are seeking the ability to receive tips, and want better compensation for delivering heavy items. Instacart has previously received funding from Austin's Whole Foods, which is now owned by Amazon.com.
