Zinwave In Licensing Deal With Cheytec

Dallas-based distributed antenna systems (DAS) provider Zinwave says it has inked a licensing deal with Cheytec Telecommunications, a wireless solution provider which designs, deploys, and operates its own in-building cellular networks. According to Zinwave, the partnership allows customers to proceed with in-building cellular installations without having to have existing wireless customers in a building. The companies said Cheytec will license the RF base station and radio equipment necessary to bring cellular wireless signals into DAS sites for in-building applications, such as an airport, hospital, university, hotel, corporate campus or high-rise office buildings--including those just being built. Financial details of the deal were not announced. As part of the deal, Zinwave said the deal's first deployment is close to home: it will be rolling out a network in its very own headquarters building in Dallas as a result of the deal with Cheytec.
