Dell EMC Links Storage Products To Amazon Web Services

Dell EMC, the data storage arm of Round Rock-based Dell Technologies, said this morning that it has extended the capabilities of its Dell EMC Data Domain products and one of its data backup products to also support Amazon S3 storage as a "storage tier". The company's Data Domain software is used for data retention and migration. Dell said that its Data Domain storage platform now supports the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), and that its NetWorker with CloudBoost backup softare now supports de-duplication, encryption and compression with backup directly to Amazon S3.
