BMC Buys Middleware Firm

Houston-based BMC Software said this morning that it has acquired a developer of middleware software tools, MQSoftware, to help expand its Business Service Management platform. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. MQSoftware, which was based in Minneapolis, developed products for performance monitoring and for monitoring messaging middleware. MQSoftware's products specifically monitors IBM's WebSphere.
