Active Power Gets Order

Austin-based Active Power, a developer of flywheel-based backup power systems, said Monday that the firm has scored an order from an unnamed manufacturer, for a 2 MW UPS from the firm. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Active Power said the systems will ship in late Q1 of 2009. Active Power's products are used for power conditioning and backup power.
