SubtleData Sets Menell As CEO, Launches Software

Austin-based SubtleData said Tuesday that it has named Bryan Menell as its CEO, and launched its platform for connecting mobile applications to Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. Menell, who was most recently at Dachis Group, also served at Perficient and other companies; he's also known for his work running AustinStartup.com. SubtleData said it is developing a platform which helps mobile developers tap into the most common Point of Sale Systems used in service industry locations, such as restaurants and night clubs. The company said it already has over 200 companies developing applications on its platform. SubtleData's founder, Richard Bagdonas, continues as Chief Technology Officer. The firm said it recently raised $500,000 in a seed round via AngelList.
