Texas Startups Help Boost Venture Capitalists Rankings

Four, Texas high tech companies are behind the top rankings of venture capitalists in the Forbes Magazine annual Midas List, the magazine's rankings of the top venture capital investors. Although there were no Texas investors listed on the rankings, four local companies--HomeAway, Rackspace, Bazaarvoice, and Solarwinds--were credited with helping venture capitalists onto the list due to their successful exits. Sequoia Capital's Douglas Leone was ranked number 18 due to his role in Rackspace; Redpoint Ventures' Jeff Brody was listed at 19, due to his role at HomeAWay; Nerraj Agrawal of Battery Ventures was ranked at 36 due to his investment in Bazaarvoice; and Jeff HOring, at Insight Venture Partners, was ranked at 80 due to his part at SolarWinds.
