Startup Texas Looks To Spur Local Startups

A new effort, run in conjunction with Startup America, is looking to spur startups in Texas. The Austin Chamber of Commerce said Wednesday that it has launched Startup Texas, a new, regional initiative which will help startups grow, and to jumpstart job creation in the country. Startup Texas said the initiative will look to help help more startups succeed in order to create jobs in Central Texas, and throughout the state. Startup America is a national program, launched by the White House and headed by AOL's Steve Case, to encourage startups as a means to grow jobs in the United States. Round Rock-based Dell is a sponsor, and the effort is also backed by the Kauffman Foundation. The Texas efforts are being chaired by John Price, who is CEO and President of Vast.com.
