Startup Taps Software From MD Anderson For Precision Medicine Efforts

Technology and software developer at The Uniersity of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is being used to advance the products for a Philadelphia startup, Oncora Medical, the two said this morning. According to Oncora and MD Anderson, they are in a strategic alliance which will be used to build next generation, precision medicine software for radiation oncology. Oncora's software platform is based on a software product developed at MD Anderson in 2014, Brocade, which is used as part of MD Anderson's electronic medical records system. The two said that MD Anderson oncologists and information technology professionals will work with Oncora's team of data scientists and engineers to install Oncora's Precision Radiation Oncology Platform at MD Anderson. Financial details of the strategic alliance were not announced by the two.
