Spiceworks Makes Cloud Help Desk Free, Launches New IT Concierge Service
Austin-based IT management software provider Spiceworks made two big announcements Thursday, saying that it is making the cloud-based version of its help desk software, Spiceworks Help Desk Cloud Edition, free to all users through ad support, and also launched a new IT concierge service. Spiceworks said the switch on its Cloud Help Desk product came after it found that offering up the service via a monthly fee was just not letting as many organizations adopt the service as it hoped. On the IT concierge service, Spiceworks said it will help IT managers start IT process research, helping to provide a list of possible solutions and support from a vendor, and other related work to get IT projects started. Spiceworks said that service will help with everything from new cabling infrastructure to licensing upgrades to data center updates.
