SoftLayer to Grow On-Demand Hosting Through Internap

Atlanta-based Internap Network Services Corp., a provider of managed Internet services, announced today that it has landed a five-year, $40 million contract to supply SoftLayer Technologies with data center collocation, route-optimized IP networking and content delivery network services. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, SoftLayer provides Web hosting and on-demand datacenter services in the Dallas and Seattle metropolitan areas. Internap said the deal will help SoftLayer expand its on-demand hosting infrastructure to the Eastern United States. This transaction follows a five-year, $16 million contract between the two companies that was announced on Nov. 13. In that deal, Internap agreed to provide SoftLayer with collocation services in Seattle and with IP networking in Dallas.
